How to Stop Hiding and Show Up Authentically for Business Growth in 2025

Show Up and Shine: Why Hiding Hurts Your Dreams (and How to Stop)

Letโ€™s get real for a moment. I recently shared a post on my social media about the importance of showing up. You know that feeling when youโ€™ve got big dreams for your business, and you decide, โ€œThis is itโ€”Iโ€™m going for it!โ€ But then, for some reason, you donโ€™t.

You hide.

You donโ€™t show up anywhereโ€”not on your social media, your website, in group meetings, or anywhere that matters. Slowly but surely, your visibility fades. And when you stop showing up, your business, bank account, and even your confidence take a hit.

No money. No business. No legacy.

Let me share a truth with you: When you hide, so does your potential.

My Year of Hiding

I get it because Iโ€™ve been there. For a whole year, I held back on sharing a graphic I created. Why? Fear. Doubting. Overthinking! I was worried about what people might thinkโ€”especially about some abbreviations on it. IYKYK (if you know, you know), right? You can view it on my page in all it glory before I switch it out! LOL

The graphic seemed off to me, and my mind spiraled into all the โ€œwhat ifs.โ€ What if it sounded sarcastic? What if people judged me? What if God Himself frowned at my attempt to share my humor?

So, I hid the graphic. I didnโ€™t post it. And you know what? That held me back too.

But then, I realized something powerful recently.

God gave me this gift of creativity. Heโ€™s not here to punish me for showing up as my real and funny self. Instead, He wants me to flourish. He wants me to use the gifts Heโ€™s given to share, grow, and inspire.

So I post the graphic and everything was fine. Perfectly fine. I felt free from who I was last year and who I’ve been needing to be. The real me! The funny quirky goof ball at times who knows business and creativity.

What Happens When You Show Up?

When you show upโ€”authentically, vulnerably, and boldlyโ€”you open the door to growth:

  • Growth in your business.
  • Growth in your confidence.
  • Growth in the legacy youโ€™re building.

So, hereโ€™s my challenge for you: Stop hiding. Share your ideas, your products, and your personality. Show up for yourself, your business, and yes, your bank account!

Ready to Shine?

In the comments below, share what you do in one sentence. If you donโ€™t have something solid yet but have an idea brewing, share that too! Give yourself permission to show up, even if itโ€™s messy or imperfect.

Why Hobbies Matter: Ignite Your Joy and Creativity with Simple Pleasures

Letโ€™s Talk Hobbies! Whatโ€™s One Thing You Love Doing Just for YOU?

Hey there, Mamacitas! Letโ€™s pause for a moment and talk about hobbies. Yes, those delightful things you do just for YOUโ€”not for work, not for others, but purely to light up your soul! So, whatโ€™s one thing that lights you up?

For me, the things that light me up in my personal life are as varied and vibrant as a rainbow. Sure, I love my coaching sessions, podcasting, and launching resources that empower entrepreneurs to crush their business goals. But outside of that? Oh, Iโ€™ve got some goodies to share!

A Clean Home = A Clear Mind

First things first, a somewhat clean home is my secret sauce for peace. Now, letโ€™s be real: life gets messy, especially when Iโ€™m knee-deep in a fantastic creation session or hustling on a launch. But a tidy space (even if itโ€™s not spotless) gives me the clarity to dive into what I love.

A Love for Good Food

One thing I truly enjoy is eating good food. And when inspiration strikes, I love to cook! Some of my go-to dishes include: FOOD!

  • Easy Peasy Chicken Flautas โ€“ Perfectly crispy, satisfying, and oh-so-simple.
  • 3-Step Cinnamon Rolls โ€“ Warm, gooey, and perfect for those sweet cravings.
  • My Favorite Enchiladas โ€“ Comfort food at its best, full of bold flavors.

Cooking brings me joy, and itโ€™s such a great way to unwind and share love with my family.

Getting Creative

When Iโ€™m not in the kitchen, youโ€™ll often find me dipping my hands into creative projects. A few of my favorite things include: DESIGNING!

  • Graphic Designing โ€“ Thereโ€™s nothing like the thrill of bringing a visual idea to life.
  • Home Designing with a Personal Touch โ€“ Rearranging furniture, adding decor, or planning spaces that truly feel like โ€œme.โ€
  • Hair Accessories โ€“ Styling, creating, and accessorizing to express my unique flair.

Sharing and Connecting Thru Writing!

Podcasting is another passion of mine. Sharing great content and connecting with amazing women brings so much fulfillment. Whether itโ€™s a story, a tip, or a prayer, I love pouring my heart into the mic to inspire others.

But hobbies arenโ€™t just funโ€”theyโ€™re of importance to my soul and what makes me tick!

Taking time to engage in activities we love can have a great impact on our well-being. Letโ€™s talk about why having a hobby isnโ€™t a luxury but a necessity.

Why Hobbies Matter

In our fast-paced lives and the social media and news media, hobbies provide a much-needed escape from the hustle and bustle. They give us:

  • Stress Relief โ€“ Engaging in a hobby can help you unwind and recharge after a long day.
  • Creativity and Joy โ€“ Hobbies spark our imagination and remind us of the simple joys in life.
  • A Sense of Identity โ€“ They reconnect us with who we are beyond our roles as parents, entrepreneurs, or caregivers.

Discovering the Perfect Hobby

Not sure what hobby might light you up? Here are some tips:

  1. Reflect on Childhood Interests โ€“ Did you love drawing, building, or exploring? Revisit those activities.
  2. Try New Things โ€“ Take a cooking class, join a book club, or try hiking. Experiment until something sticks.
  3. Schedule Hobby Time โ€“ Even 30 minutes a week can make a difference.

Examples of Unique Hobbies

If youโ€™re looking for inspiration, here are some hobbies that might surprise you:

  • Journaling or creative writing for self-reflection. Starting a business but not quite ready for a coach, try my Online Business Woman of Soulful Reflection! Imagine setting aside time to write down what inspires youโ€”whether itโ€™s a hobby, a dream, or simply how you want to spend your time. Journaling is the perfect tool for rediscovering what makes you you!
  • Gardening to connect with nature and create something beautiful. I love to get my hands dirty sometimes. And I don’t mind an Earth worm! (Over here laughing out loud!)
  • Pottery, knitting, sewing or painting to tap into your artistic side.
  • Volunteering to give back while doing something meaningful.

Balancing Hobbies and Responsibilities

Life is busy, but making time for hobbies doesnโ€™t have to be hard. Here are some tips:

  • Start Small โ€“ Dedicate just 15-30 minutes a day or week to your hobby.
  • Combine Activities โ€“ Cook a meal with your family or involve them in your creative projects.
  • Use Hobbies as Self-Care โ€“ Treat your hobby time as an vital part of your weekly routine.

So, Mamacitas, Iโ€™ve spilled the tea on what lights me up. Now, itโ€™s your turn! Whatโ€™s one thing you love doing just for YOU? Letโ€™s celebrate those hobbies and passions that bring joy, creativity, and a sense of purpose to our lives. Drop your favorites in the comments belowโ€”I canโ€™t wait to hear about them!

Empowering Yourself & Calling Forth Your Purpose

For one to become brave on their business journey certain things must happen. However, one must go through the emotion or emotions as you proceed into every aspect of setting up. And this involves using our processors, brain, intuition and all our senses.

Some of us have faster processors than others. Meaning that we can identify, feel, accept, distinguish, process, interpret situations faster as compared to someone who has not developed these skill or needs help putting words into place, slots, or categories. In other words, assigning things or situations a certain vocabulary, feeling, or thought which then helps them to translate it into their processors (brain & senses) and their processors begin to light up and make the connections with identifying, feeling, accepting, distinguishing, and processing things. Now, when we are slow to โ€œprocessโ€ it is because we lose sight of something or a connection that has not happened yet. In real life situations we process by “taking the time” to sit with it, cry, grief, feel, talk it out loud, journal, pray etc. We take the time to honor ourselves and our emotions and compartmentalize everything. And in business itโ€™s not any different. In here. Iโ€™m going to tie this into Identity & Purpose.

One may say to themselves while reading this, โ€œI already know my identity or purpose. I donโ€™t need identity/purpose work.โ€ If that were the case, one would know & feel where they are in life right now to where they are heading into. And if one was seeking to be an entrepreneur they would already be one or on the journey of being one. Entrepreneurs will succeed, fail, fix, grow, and pivot some on their journey. In the beginning stages, one would have their business set up or at least begin to map it out. Stamp their vision in place (Habakkuk 2:2) and begin the implementation process. There would be no gap between where they are at and where they are going to. Remember, I said some of us have faster processors meaning we can set up that business, map it all out, have a vision, and implementation processes already going and many other things that must happen. There is a sense of order. GOD is a God of order and peace (1 Corinthians 14:33). You have a full strategy or a flexible strategy rather.

Business isnโ€™t easy regardless of it being a brick and mortar or online. It takes tenacity, flexibility, & carrying that vision inside of oneself. And closing in on the gaps. And all this takes knowing oneself inside and out. Knowing what one is made of. Oneโ€™s Identity. And knowing oneโ€™s purpose, goals, directions etc. Surely oneโ€™s identity can evolve over time. It’s good practice to check into one’s self over time. Perhaps oneโ€™s identity was that they enjoyed spending lots of time alone and now they seek to be around small groups.

On a personal level, identity often refers to a person’s sense of self, meaning how they view them self as compared to other people. I’m not referencing the Comparison Syndrome. I’m referring to the makeup of one’s self. For example, what do they enjoy the most about themselves? Or what characteristics or traits are they most aware of? Or are they lacking something? Feel like there is a missing component not yet grasped or processed through? I would suggest anyone who has kids to begin this work early on and if one feels their kid is wavering through life to begin the work. This is perfect for a High School student who is unaware of their direction. Identity work involves outside environments and inside home environments.

How does identity + purpose have anything to do with seeking to be an entrepreneur? One must know their identity and be super comfortable or at least start to become comfortable on who they are, what they are, how they are, and who they seek to be and not want to be, before jumping into this brave business journey. If you havenโ€™t done any identity work and have had issues with getting your business in order from the dream/idea stage to the implementation/testing stage, this might be an area where you are missing some key points on why you haven’t done it or super stuck. Recognizing your identity and purpose. Working on oneโ€™s self-identity is important for oneโ€™s success. It strengthens oneโ€™s character. We know who we are and whose we are. Discovering our identity provides layers of confidence and can identify our strengths. It can also point out any weaknesses and in turn help one to work on any weaknesses so we can emerge as stronger individuals. Now this is love and loving on yourself is a big deal. Your uniqueness distinguishes us from anyone else and that is so empowering!
